This product is a lot safer than metal ones.
We made the Citation Holder out of plastic. The reason: It’s a lot safer in a crash. We have had at least two officers who have  told us the citation holder was the first thing that hit the car and broke-off. If this was metal it may have tangled in the body of the vehicle. We are very proud of this product. Did I mention it is all hand made!
